At 65 I Have As Much Energy As Jagger!
Believe it or not, it’s true and I can prove it. Click to play the promotional video (below) I made just 3 years ago with my tribute band The Rolling Stones Experience.
If you’re reading this you’ve probably been been to my Facebook page The Rolling Stones Experience and you’ll already know I love music and in particular I’m a Rolling Stones fanatic.
And you’ll know that I portray Jagger in my tribute band, so bearing in mind the fact that I’m around Mick’s age, just like him I have to work at it.
If you are getting ‘up there’ in age, a baby boomer like me, you might be interested, not only in music as I am, but also keen to keep fit and healthy.
And, like MOST of us, YOU probably want to have as much fun as possible for AS LONG as you can.
To be totally honest I wasn’t quite 65 when we made the video, in actual fact I was only 62 at the time.
But it’s a good thing I did make it because now when people ask me what I do for fun, I say I impersonate Mick Jagger in a Tribute band.
A big smile appears on their face, then they look at me and say ‘yeah right, what do you really do ??’ and I reply, ‘ok you can have a look at this vidoe if you want.
It only goes for 4 minutes and you’ll see what I ‘REALLY’ do for fun!
The best part is, anyone can keep fit and healthy like Jagger, well most people anyway, it’s not some dark secret only know to royalty or ancient pharaohs.
So why not enjoy our lives to the max, who said you’re old when you turn 55, 60, 65 or even 80 for that matter, it’s all BS to me.
And why should you be content with watching TV every night with your pipe and slippers or knitting, then falling asleep with your mouth open ready to catch any unsuspecting fly going by.
I came home from a gig one night, and to wind down I got myself a beer and some peanuts to watch a bit of telly.
Next thing an add comes on the tv about heart disease, then one warning men about prostate cancer, followed by an add to suggest a good funeral plan for elders, and I’m thinking, ‘I think someone wants me to croak it!’
What we do when we’re ‘older’ is just a state of mind or our belief or attitude that has been passed down through the generations.
BUT! times are changing, more and more people want to live as long as they can, all they need to do now is DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
Let’s chuck out the old BELIEF!
‘Ok, you’re old now, so you need to take it easy, don’t go walking to the shops, I’ll drive you, and I’ll get the mail from your letter box, so you just sit around and relax’. (or do they mean sit around and wait to die?)
The old saying, ‘kill you with kindness’ is rampant in our society, so WATCH OUT, don’t let anyone treat you like an old person unless you ‘WANT’ to be one.
Hpoe you have time to check out the video, and I’ll see you soon.
